6 Amazing Tips Every Emcee Should Know: Make Your Freestyles Fire!

Nowadays the hip hop scene is seeing a lot of up and coming rap stars hit it big from virtually out of NO WHERE! Yep, that’s right, if you have a pc (which 90% of population does), have a desire to succeed, and have an innate love for rap music, then you can become a RAP STAR! Notice I didn’t just say “rapper,” but a “Rap Star.”
Take Soulja Boy for example. Now you may or may not like his music, and you may or may not think he is a decent rap artist. None of that matters, because when you look at his overall career, he is considered a “Rap Star!” Know where he got started? Myspace. Who’s to say that next star couldn’t be you? Read these 6 Tips on Freestyling and you’ll be one step closer to making that dream reality.
STAGE 1 (Recommended For Newbies):
FREESTYLE RAP TIP #1: When you practice, write it down.
This technique is a fundamental technique. The results will help you to grow your freestyling variation. I can’t remember how many times I’ve been doing every day things and a sick rhyme comes to mind. It pays off to have a little notebook handy to jot down the idea.
The best way to utilize this is to throw on different instrumentals, freestyling to them. It doesn’t matter how bad you are, just keep the thoughts coming, and write down the good lines. Rap, write, forget, repeat cycle. This is a good way to get a lot of ideas down in a notebook. Just freestyle, write down the good lines you accidentally come up with, forget about it and continue rapping. Rinse and Repeat.
FREESTYLE RAP TIP #2: The slow flow grows. Be patient and learn.
Now that you have a freestyle notebook, it’s a good idea to check back with it every so often, but it isn’t necessary to memorize it. Just use the lines as references, and some of your favorites you can memorize for later use in a freestyle battle. It’s good to just take these two steps slowly, and as you get better you can move on to the next stage of improving your freestyle battling.

How To Make $1,000s Every Month Selling Your Beats Online!

So you have made a few beats that sound dope, and you know with a couple verses your beats would make one sick track. Only problem is, you can’t rap, you’re a producer If you are not looking to make beats for your own personal use, chances are you are looking to sell. Selling beats is easy, and can be very lucrative, the only problem is many people don’t know where to begin, or how to promote once they get their content on the internet.
I am not a mastermind by any means when it comes to promoting, but I can give you references that will show you step by step exactly what to do to make a full time or a handsome looking supplementary income.
Basically what I am going to do is simply give you the resources I have looked into myself and am implementing for income on the side myself. As far as marketing your beats and convincing MCs to buy your beats, well that is up to you as a producer. If the quality is there than the beats should sell.
The easiest way to sell beats online is to join MyBeatShop and RocBattle. These two sites are the easiest to use and MCs specifically go to these sites to buy beats. The only catch is that there are tons of producers on there trying to sell beats themselves. You have to find ways to drive people to your beats to get them to sell. Luckily these websites have beat battles which help get you exposure. You can also list your beats on Myspace and Facebook to get publicity.
Another way to sell beats is to visit TuneCore.com. TuneCore will act as a middle man between you as an independent producer and companies such as iTunes and Rhapsody. They will submit your beats to these companies, and many more. Once they are accepted your beats will be obtainable through iTunes and other such companies.
One last suggestion would be to check out CDBaby.com. This company will sell your beats either as digital download, or by the CD. They get a small royalty, but you still make money selling your beats nonetheless.
Of course you can always market to local MCs, or use the beats for your own raps and get exposure as a producer that way. There are countless ways to sell beats, on and offline, you just have to let your inner hustler out and get that money!
Home Recording Studio? Here’s How To Get Yours!

One of the most important investments you can make as a rapper or music producer is a home studio. Having a home studio setup at your disposal is good for cutting your costs and being able to record at any given moment.
If you are willing to invest a little bit now, the rewards will definitely pay off. Remember this, home recording studios are investments.
Many rappers don’t have a full blown home studio setup at their disposal, and for a rapper having a place to record at any given time is the best asset you can imagine. When you feel like it, you can record a song.
Home recording studios can be a little pricey, but if you shop smart you can get deals on products and find brands that have quality without paying for a brand name. Just focus on purchasing the equipment piece by piece and before you know it, you will have an entire home studio. Owning a home recording studio is not impossible if you follow this basic recording studio design:
1. Microphone
2. Pop Filter
3. Mic Stand
4. Head Phones
5. Personal Computer
6. MBOX
7. DAW or Beat Software (optional)
